Terms of Service

Introduction
ZenTransfer is a service provided by Perceptron AS ("we," "us," or "our") located in Oslo, Norway. ZenTransfer allows users to send files from cameras with FTP and build automated workflows by integrating other cloud services.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ZenTransfer, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use ZenTransfer. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
User Accounts
Registration: You must create an account by providing your name and a valid email address to use ZenTransfer.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Emails we send to you contain authentication codes. We recommend that you secure your email account with a strong, unique password and multi-factor authentication. Anyone that breaches your email account will also be able to access your ZenTransfer account.
Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate and complete. You can update your account information through the User Profile page.
Account Management: You can delete your account and all content at any time through the self-serve dashboard.
Use of the Service
License: We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use ZenTransfer for personal or commercial purposes.
Prohibited Activities: You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purposes.
- Upload or share content that is illegal or infringes on intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to interfere with the service's functionality or security.
Content
Personal Data: We maintain records of your personal data, including your name and email address, for the duration of your account. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
Content Data: Content Data is any content you transfer via ZenTransfer. You retain all rights to your content. By uploading content to the service, you grant us a temporary, worldwide, non-exclusive license to distribute your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. The license is limited to the time you are using the service. Content Data is deleted from our servers at the latest after 24 hours. You can manually delete data at any time through the ZenTransfer Dashboard or API, in which case you also immediately revoke our license to distribute your content.
Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you or anyone you authorize upload and share on ZenTransfer.
Employee Access: ZenTransfer employees do not access User Content. The system is designed to prevent employee access, and technical controls and operational procedures prohibit such actions.
To make it explicit: We do not use your Personal Data or Content Data for any other purpose than to provide the service to you and those you authorize to access it. We do not share or sell User Data or Content Data to to third parties.
Payment and Billing
Free Services: You can test ZenTransfer for free for 7 days. You must provide us with a valid name and email address so that we can save and protect your content. We have set reasonable rate limits to prevent abuse. This is intended to help you evaluate the service with the intent of purchasing a paid service.
Paid Services: To continue using ZenTransfer you must sign up for a subscription. We charge subscriptions monthly, and you can cancel at any time through the self-serve dashboard. When you cancel you retain access to the service until the end of the current billing period. We charge a subscription fee for access to the service, and a usage fee for the amount of files transferred via the service. The subscription fee is billed up-front, first time when you sign up for the service. Usage fees are billed monthly in retrospect or when your balance passes the credit threshold set for your account.
Billing: Payments are processed via Stripe, a secure third-party payment provider.
Data Storage and Security
Data Storage: We are storing your account and metadata redundantly in data centers in the European Union and the United States. When you upload you will be connected to the edge node closest to your current location. We operate edge nodes in the across the world. The list of edge nodes will change from time to time reflecting usage and demand. The current list of edge nodes is available on our website. Edge nodes store files only temporarily, often only for a few seconds before they are transferred to our primary storage servers. Storage servers are located in data centers in the European Union and the United States and location is chosen based on upload location. Files are stored for 24 hours to be available to integrations, download via the user interface, and via our API in that period. Thereafter the files are permanently deleted from our servers. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using customer managed keys (i.e. keys belonging to Perceptron AS).
Data Security: We implement robust security measures, including encryption, access controls, and time-locked backups to protect your data.
Communication
Transactional Emails: We send transactional emails related to sign-up, authentication with one-time passwords, payment, and deletion of accounts. Transactional emails are only sent when necessary, as a result of user interaction, and when required by law. Please note that you cannot opt out of transactional emails. You can delete your account at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove all metadata and content. We retain a hash of your email address to prevent abuse of your account. If you wish to use the service again in the future, you must provide us with another valid email address and create a new account.
Marketing Emails: We may occasionally send marketing emails about new features or promotions. You can unsubscribe from these emails by using the link provided in the email, the Unsubscribe button in your email client, or on the Profile page.
Email Relay: You can configure ZenTransfer to send email notifications whenever a file is uploaded. You must have the consent of recipients before adding them to the system. Recipients can unsubscribe from such notifications. Any abuse of the email delivery system will lead to immediate termination of your account.
Support and Service Level Agreement (SLA)
ZenTransfer is built as a globally redundant and highly available service. We report historical uptime and ongoing incidents on our status page. Customers can subscribe to email notifications of ongoing issues. We offer best-effort support via email on hello@zentransfer.io.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to free users of ZenTransfer at our sole discretion, without notice, and for any reason. For Paid Services, we will provide the service for the duration of the paid period, but reserve the right to immediately terminate your access to the service if you violate these terms.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Perceptron AS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of ZenTransfer.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of ZenTransfer after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
