FTP to OneDrive: camera-to-cloud delivery inside Microsoft 365

Microsoft OneDrive is the default cloud storage for anyone working in a Microsoft 365 environment. Corporate clients, government organisations, educational institutions, and media companies that standardise on Microsoft infrastructure all have OneDrive. ZenTransfer's OneDrive integration means your camera can deliver directly into that ecosystem — no manual upload, no USB cable, no waiting until the shoot ends.

How it works

Your camera's FTP transfer capability points at ZenTransfer's FTP endpoint. ZenTransfer receives each file and immediately routes it to your connected OneDrive account, in a ZenTransfer folder. Files appear in OneDrive within seconds of being shot, synced to every device connected to the same account.

Setting up

Step 1: Connect OneDrive in the ZenTransfer dashboard

In your ZenTransfer Destinations settings, select OneDrive and complete the Microsoft authorisation flow. ZenTransfer requests only the permissions needed to write to the ZenTransfer folder — it does not access the rest of your OneDrive content.

Step 2: Configure FTP on your camera

Enter the ZenTransfer FTP hostname, username, and temporary password in your camera's network transfer settings. Save the profile. Once the camera is on any Wi-Fi connection — your phone hotspot, a portable 5G device, or venue Wi-Fi — it transmits automatically.

Microsoft 365 Business and SharePoint

For photographers working on contract for corporate clients or organisations, the OneDrive integration is often the cleanest delivery path. Many corporate IT policies require all files to stay within the Microsoft 365 tenancy. Delivering directly to a OneDrive folder that is part of a SharePoint site or a Teams channel keeps the workflow entirely within the client's existing infrastructure.

This is particularly useful for: - Corporate event photographers whose client requires files in SharePoint rather than a third-party file-sharing service - Government and institutional work where data sovereignty requirements mandate Microsoft-hosted storage - Team collaboration where the photographer, editor, and client all access the same OneDrive folder via Teams or SharePoint

Personal OneDrive accounts

OneDrive Personal (included with Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscriptions) works identically. Files land in the ZenTransfer folder, synced to OneDrive's desktop client on Mac or Windows, and accessible via the OneDrive mobile app.

Multi-destination delivery
